My question is: Whether the reimbursement received by a mediclaim policy holder for the medical expenses incurred by is exempt from tax? if so which section provides for such exemption?

This is nothing but the reimbursement of expenditure. AS those expenses is not allowable so reimbursement of that expenditure wil also not be taxable.
