14 October 2011 Does every branch of a company will have a Separate TAN?

If suppose the TAN is not Avaliable to that Branch and it is supposed to deduct the Tax at source, can the branch deduct the tax? In how many days it should get the TAN?

14 October 2011 20. Can branches of companies/banks have separate TANs?
Yes. The name and location of branch or the designation of the person responsible for deducting/collecting tax, whichever is applicable, should be clearly given in the application for allotment of TAN
