Hey! For a logistics company, when you want to pass a **“To Pay Train Entry”** (i.e., payment to be made for train freight or goods transport), here’s a simple way to record it in Tally:
---
### How to pass "To Pay Train" entry in Tally:
#### Scenario:
You have to pay freight charges to the train company, and you want to record this liability (or payment).
---
### Step 1: Create Ledgers (if not created already)
* **Train Freight Charges** (Expense ledger under Direct Expenses or Indirect Expenses) * **To Pay Train / Freight Payable** (Current Liabilities ledger to record amount to be paid) * **Bank or Cash** (for payment later)
---
### Step 2: Pass the Entry
#### If you want to record the freight charges as a **liability to be paid later**:
This shows that you owe the train company the freight charges.
---
#### Step 3: When you pay the freight charges:
* Go to **Payment Voucher (F5)** * Debit: **To Pay Train / Freight Payable** (Liability) * Credit: **Bank or Cash**
This clears the liability and records the payment.
---
### Optional: If you want to record it directly as payment:
* Go to **Payment Voucher (F5)** * Debit: **Train Freight Charges** * Credit: **Bank or Cash**
---
**Note:** Usually logistics companies maintain freight payable ledger to track amounts to be paid and paid. This helps in reconciling unpaid freight bills.
