14 January 2010 stamp duty & registrion charges are paid on booking of a flat in F.Y. 2009-10 and possession will be in july 2010. whether deduction under sec 80C can be claimed in 2010-11?

14 January 2010 Since 80c allowance is on payment basis you can claim deduction in 2010-11.

15 January 2010 As you say, deuction under sec 80C is on payment basis, it should be claimed in the year of payment i.e 2009-10 though possession is not received before March 2010. Right?
