Dear Sir, We are the dealer registered under U.P. VAT ACT. Whether we can sign our computer generated tax invoices via digital signature. . Or doing so can cause us problem, as there is provision for signing vat returns via digital signature in the VAT Rules however there is no provision is found in the act/rules, regarding the signing of tax invoices via digital signature?

Digital signatures are governed by the information technology act. This act overrides all the acts. So you can go ahead and sign the invoices using DSC and there shouldnt be any problem.
