27 January 2014 Can any adult member sign the ROI in the case of HUf even if the Karta is in India.

It is known that according to Sec 140 any other adult member can sign only when Karta is outside India.

27 January 2014 No. Section 140(b) provides that where the karta of a HUF is absent from India, then only return of income can be signed by any other adult member of the family.
