Shipping and billing address

This query is : Resolved

30 May 2013 Dear Sirs:

We have received order from a customer whose registered address is at Mumbai. As per the terms and conditions of the order, part of the order has to be delivered to Chennai and the invoice has to raise to their Mumbai address. Is it OK whether we can raise the invoice - Bill to Mumbai address and Deliver to Chennai address with CST and send the goods by courier to Chennai? In this case, usually we will raise the invoice to Mumbai with CST and delivery to Chennai with supporting documents as delivery challan for demo purpose with approx amount. Kindly correct me whether the procedure follow is right or wrong? Please guide me

Thanks and best regards
G. Gangadharan

30 May 2013 PROCEDURE IS OK
BUYER TO MUMBAI ADDRESS
CONSIGNEE NAME TO CHENNAI

ITS OK

30 May 2013 I do not know whether you are in the same state or outside it,in any case,it will be wrong to do it. You have no valid transaction to move the goods from your shop to Chennai. The invoice is issued to the Mumbai customer and all goods from you should go to Mumbai only. If the customer wants to save on transportation, either an invoice or an invoice and a delivery note for moving the products from your point to Chennai has to be provided by him.Suppose you issue a delivery note as accompanying document, you can not show a further linking transaction, like a stock transfer or sale in your books.Without any valid documents the goods can not move to a particular destination. So,please be careful.....mjk
