Shares in both BSE and NSE

This query is : Resolved

31 January 2008 Hi Experts
Why There are certain shares listed in both BSE and NSE. What is the logic behind the same share being available in both the exchanges? Will the price of a share in both the exchanges be same? Is it possible to buy the share in one exchange and sell it in another exchange?

01 February 2008 This happens when a company get listed on both stock exchanges.

Price of a company's shares on different stock exchanges may be different. practically they are always different.

And, no it is not possible to freely jump your shares from one exchange to another.

04 March 2008 If the Co. applies to be listed in both stock exchange then shares will be listed in both exchanges.
There is no logic. No, not necessary that prices in both exchange shall be same.
Yes it is possible to buy shares in one exchange and sell in other. However for this the shares should be listed in both exchange.
