Shares are held in the Demat Form in the account of the Holder. Just submit the slips for transfer of the shares mentioning the account details and other particulars of the other person and submit it with your depository.
It is similar to transfer like a money from one bank account to other through writing of cheque. Here you have to submit the transfer slip only with the depository.

Better option to sell in the market and to buy from other demat... Just some brokerage will be ur cost and saving of time....
Totally agree with rahul. Thts the legal way to transfer shares.... But now since now the shares are in demat form than its better to sale and purchase back .
