Share trading in NBFC

03 May 2008 Can a Pvt. Ltd. Co.(Main Business object - Software development)also purchase and sell shares, mutual funds etc. if the same is in other object.

If reply is 'YES' then why the NBFC are there?

05 May 2008 NON BANKING FIN.COMPANIES ( NBFC ) ARE REQUIRED TO BE REGISTERED WITH RBI,AND CATEGORISED INTO DEPOSIT COS. AND INVESTMENT COMPANIES.
ONLY DEPOSIT CATEGORY CAN COLLECT DEPOSITS FROM PUBIC.
OTHERS CAN ONLY INVEST(BUT CANNOT COLLECT PUBLIC DEPOSITS) AS PER RBI GUIDELINES.
YES.ANY CO. IF IT HAS OBJECTS CLAUSE EMPOWERING BUY AND SELL OF SHARES ETC... CAN DO SO.
INVESTMENT OR INTER CORP. LOANS OR GUARANTEES ETC.. IS NOT THE DOMAIN OR PATENT OF ONLY FEW COS.
ANY CO. CAN DO IT IF PROPERLY AUTHORISEDBY ITS BYELAWS.

05 May 2008 If I want to trading in shares and MF then can I form a normal Comany (Non NBFC)by taking its main object for purchase - Sales of shares?
