Services provided by a restaurant

19 August 2011 sir, our client provided services of restaurant and he is provided services separately for air conditioned for some area and other area is open place i.e. non air conditioned. as per new notification these services are taxable. i have a dought about which services are taxable i.e. both A.C. and NON A.C. services provided by restaurant please give me a valid suggestion with valid interpretation

21 August 2011 Yes it will be applicable.

As AC is needed in any part of the restaurent and it does not matter that the service is provided in AC area or non AC Area.
