do we require tan no for getting service tax no.what is the process? how much time does it take?

PAN no. is required. TAN no. not required.
Procedure.
Register at www.aces.gov.in. Fill the online application form ST - 1 and submit. Submit the printout of the form along with enclosures to the range superintendent. It takes about 7 to 10 days to obtain the registration.
