Sir, my client has constructed a Warehouse in rural area under Gramin Bhandar yogna and given on rent to Haryana State Co-op. supply and marketing federation ltd(HAFED)for ten years. Pls advise me, whether service tax is applicable or not on above rent.

If annual turnover would get exceed 10lakhs then service tax is applicable otherwise not...

There is some confusion to charge the service tax on warehouse rent. Opinion of some professional in this matter is that warehouse will be used for storage of agriculture produce. so service tax will not be applicable on that. kindly clarify the position.
