Dear All, Some of our job workers are charging us service tax on labour charges from 01.07.2012. Is it correct. What is the provision relating to service tax on job work wef. 01.07.2012 Is job work is exempt from service tax as per Mega Exemption Notification no. 25/2012

Yes. The service tax is applicable. Dpending upon the nature of the job the abatement (Earlier word) is available. You need to distinguish between works contract, repair and addition to existing work.
