please resolved the following query.
health check-up service is provided by the hospitals to the patients & employees on the behalf of Insurance Companies & employers of the big companies on which service tax is charged. suppose an bill relating to this service is issued as follows. health check up = 10000 service tax amt = 1030 total = 11030
Against this invoice, amt received by the hospital is Rs.10,500 after allowing a discount of 530 as an full & final payment.
My query is, whether the liability for service tax is Rs. 1030 or Rs 980 (considering inclusive Amt.)
