Service tax on advance payment recd

We do Erection & Commissioning related work. We used to get advance payment from client before executing the work .Service start 3-4 months later.Can we adjust Ser tax credit for payemnt of Adv Service tax or would require to deposit in Seprate challan,
Is any clearification or notification is in this regards ?
