21 January 2012 hi , can anybody tell me that a manufacturing company registered under excise deptt. but not registered under service tax, can take input of service tax on service tax invoice

22 January 2012 Yes, cross credit is permissible under the law. Read Rule 3(1) of the cenvat credit rules, 2004.
