Dear Experts
Our comp is an 100% EOU located at Chennai. We are into apparel mfrs.
We incur freight charges during the sale...The freight vendor charges ST on the bill...Can we take ST credit on that amount..?

As per my knowledge, Service Tax credit can be taken on Inward Freight Only.

As per rule 2 (l) of CENVAT credit rules, 2004 input service, inter alia, includes outward transportation upto the place of removal. Therefore u can take credit of service tax paid on freight charges upto the place of removal.
