Our company is a 100% EOU registered under STPI. We don't have any sales in india. My query is: A) Do we need to register under service tax and file monthly service tax returns B) Are we eligible to claim refund of service tax paid on Rent, internet charges etc., from the department without registering under service tax.

You need to register with the Service Tax Deprtment first.Then file returns showing the eligible input service tax paid.There after you should file a refund claim.

Thanks for the reply, Can you please let me know if it's compulsory to file monthly returns for a Software company registered as 100% EOU under STPI with No local sales.
