Can a service receiver claim benefit of service tax credit on service tax charged from him by the provider of service .i.e the insurance company?
Please explain the relevant provision also.

Yes, insurance services are eligible for set off/cenvat if such input services are meant for or in relation to output services. See the cenvat rules, 2004.
