Service provider & service recipient

This query is : Resolved

08 September 2013 Sir, What is the difference between service provider & service recipient? how tax implications 'll be posed...Pls answer me. Regards,

08 September 2013 service provider is the person actually giving the service to others. and service recipient is the person who receive the service from others.

Service covered under normal category, service provider has to collect the service tax from the recipient and pay to government

Services covered under reverse charge, the service recipient directly pay to government

08 September 2013 The difference is equivalent to buyer and seller in vat.

One is providing his services (seller) and other one is receiving (buyer)services.

Except few services, all the services are taxable and for all such taxable services, service provider is liable to pay.

As explained by expert, CMA Ramesh Krishnan, service recipient are liable in some services under reverse charge.
