can i knw what is the min. amt. of salary to be recd. for deduction of tax?

15 July 2009 To deduct TDS from Salary there is as such no minimum amount slabis there.

As Salary is paid to individuals and if the total income of the individual exceeds the basic limit of individual slab then TDS is to be deducted.

For proper deduction of TDS the individual should declare his/her other sources of income as well as the investments made by him/her.

15 July 2009 For the year to be end on 31.03.2010, Minimum amount of income should exceed Rs 160000 for men and 190000/- for women to be taxable.

For filing in current year, it is 150000/- and 180000/- respectively for men and women

Only then TDS will be liable to be deducted.
