For building up career your expertise in other subjects will do but for passing the CA Exam, expert knowledge of accounts is required.
An expert is a person who simplifies things to make them understandable to others. Manytimes in other fields of Practice also, you will have to present the complex accounting matters in simple formats, so I think that you must utilise your time.Your continuous efforts in the subject will definitely make you an expert.
