My company is paying fixed medical and Leave Travel allowance to the employee, which is payable after deduction of TDS. Is there any exemption under medical and leave travel allowance . If yes under which section of the income tax act. Remember that amount is not reimbursed by employer.

Fixed Medical Allowances is taxable in all cases. But Leave Travel Allowances to the extent bills submitted. Mind it Leave Travel Allowances is exempted on for 2 times in the block of 4 calender years. Current block is 2006,2007,2008 & 2009.
