26 April 2013 What are the rights of doner of a donation given to any charitable trust.

26 April 2013 A Donor cant have any right on the donation as it is a voluntary act by donor and not out of compulsion.

Donor if donated an amount for a specific purpose than can ask for the proof of its utilisation and its proper manner still i doubt its actual application from donor's point of view.

However trust is bind to provide following details to the donor out of their statutory requirements :

(1) Legal Receipt of the Donation
(2) Copy of certificate for eligibility of the Donation made under income tax
(3) Purpose of donation and its complete details for what purpose donation is made by donor.
(However same will not apply in case of anonymous donation)

10 June 2013 Yes the expert is right once the donation is given the right over the money is automatically transferred to the trust and they have no obligation except if you have donated for any specific purpose then only they have to account for and involve you in the activity.
