Acording to me under the MVAT regim even the returns during assessment proceedings are considered valid. There is no bar on filling return after due date. I'am told by some senior speakers at VAT Seminar at Mumbai that you can consider rev return filed after 31/12. So in my opinion you can. But i will leave the querry open
