29 December 2013 Part of this year I have earned salary income from a regular company that has given me Form 16. Then I joined another small company for 2 months which did not issue salary slips/Form 16. I also have income as a freelancer. The income from salary given by the regular company will be under the heading 'Salary Income'. What about:
1. Income from the smaller company that has not issue Form 16.
2. Income from freelancing.
Thanks in advance.

29 December 2013 1. The salary income from both the employers will be covered under salary only. You need to ask for the copy of Form 16. Even if the same is not available, it is your duty to mention the same in your tax returns and ensure that proper taxes are paid on the same.

2. Income from freelancing shall be shown as Income from Business/Profession.

You should file ITR 4.
