There are various types of primary books kept by the organizations like cash book,purcahse and sale book,bills receivable and payable book,purchase return and sales return book.If any transaction is not related to these books and it is passed through journal voucher.Also at the time of closing of books various types of adjustments are done with the help of journal vouchers like charging of depreciation,account settlement etc.
