01 September 2011 The PF Act is now with inclusion of deducting PF who are drawing above Rs.6500 is optional.

Considering this, is it necessary for a firm/manufacturing unit to get it registered under PF Act where all the employees are drawing Rs.6500 or more..!!

a) If yes; how will the department will get revenue...? where even the existing unit will terminate the service of the employee and make them for a new entry.

b) If no, why not it could be increased to Rs.15000 as in the case of ESI, where getting Rs.6500 a month is below the Set line by the Govt.

01 September 2011 contribution exceeding salary above 6500 is optional, not the enrollment of employees, employees who are drawing 50000 can opt to pay on 6500 or 50000 on mutual understanding with employer, but they are not exempted at all.

I cud un'stand upto Rs.6500 is compulsory..
but find from the recent inclusion that for new employees who are not being the member of EPF are optional if their salary is above Rs.6500

Pl. clarify on this.. and advise..

If this is the case,
no organisation will opt for EPF and neither make better pay or pay in the paper and avoid pf formalities and liabilities.

02 September 2011 When the employee drawing basic salary more then Rs.6500 the the PF is optional, but following condition need to fulfill

1. Employee is not member of PF previously
2. Incase of employee is senior citizen
