13 September 2013 I am service provider being registered in service tax.but now my service came under negitive list as per new service tax law.please tell me whether i need to surrender my registration certificate or not ..if not then whether i need to file regular service tax returns..?

14 September 2013 You are one amoung thousand whose service comes under Negative list.

As you are not liable to ST, there is no need to keep registration. You can very well surrender the same.
Make sure you file all your returns on time till date before surrendering to avoid penalty.

Now company paid service tax saying that I am not liable for service tax as I own a proprietorship firm. Now i want to ask you that i didnot pay service tax then whether i need to file service tax return or not.

20 September 2013 Supply of Manpower comes under Reverse Charge mechanism.

As you are a proprietor, the ST liability will be that of Service Receiver. and Service Receiver will file return showing his liability and payment.

you neither need to pay nor need to file any return.
