Regarding filing of annual return

This query is : Resolved

24 August 2012 Dear Sir,

In ABC P Ltd, there are 25 equity shareholders and 20 preference share holders.
Out of which 10 are common. i.e. They hold both equity and preference shares.

Now, while entering data into e-form 20B relating to filing of annual return of the Company, I have a doubt regarding what should be entered in the no. of shareholders field.

Is it 25+20 = 45
or
25+20-10 = 35 ?

Kindly clarify this query at the earliest.

Awaiting your earliest reply and thank you in anticipation.

25 August 2012 Hello,
In e-Form - 20B you required to mention No. of Shareholders,, Shareholders means Eq. as well as Pref.,, Nw in you Shareholder Reg. what you have done?, May b of course you have only one folio for both Eq. & Pref. sh. so no need to calculate 1 person twice coz he held both type of shares,,
.
For Ex. If Mr. X holds both the share, calculate as 1 sh. holder for both the share.
.
But, if in your Reg. n certificate n all if you have entered another folio for the same person for diff. class of Sh. then, calculate acc. so check your Registers, how you make entry there then, decide.
