Exported goods may be re-imported and returned to the factory for carrying out repairs, re-conditioning, refining, re-making or similar process. These can be re-exported after re-processing. If any waste arises during such re-processing, such waste can be cleared on payment of duty. If goods exported under bond are brought back the duty liability is only under customs law. There is no provision under central excise law to recover excise duty on goods which were exported under bond.
