21 October 2011 Sir. Under Which Rule of west bengal Vat Tds need to deduct on payment of Works contract.

Generally the tds is supposed to be the rate of tax you are paying. But in most attes TDS is made at 4%(composition rate. If you consider it as high you can apply to your VAT officer and get it reduced also.

02 March 2012 In case of unregistered dealer VAT TDS is 4% but in case of registered dealer it is 2%
