Quoting section in exams-urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This query is : Resolved

04 April 2012 In DT and IDT paper if we do remember the section but not the exact sub section or clause, then will it be wise to quote while writing answers in exams???????????

04 April 2012 QUote the section only if you are 110% sure. Otherwise DO NOT quote the section.

Further, if you remember the section but not the sub section, then quote only the section and NOT the sub section.

All the best.

04 April 2012 Yes. u can quote the section number. Quoting the section number gives a good impression to the evaluator and gives u a better edge for scoring more marks.
But if ur not sure of the section number, dont quote it.

04 April 2012 If you are not sure about the number of the section do not quote it. Simply you can write as per the provisions of House Property or Business Income or any other head the assessee is........ It is also important to give the answer in the manner it is required and not as per your choice. Give the answer in the following format to score very good marks
a) Analysis
b) Discussion
c) Conclusion
It is also not important to mention the case law but if you can give brief about the case law you will full marks,
