14 July 2009 Hi All,

I am filling ITR-1 form online,what should i have to write in "Designation of Accesing officer ward/circle" fiels and how can i get that code.

what shold be filled in the filed that are not applicable to me(Exa 80GG,Surcharge on 9a shold be filled as "0" or left blanck)

Also what to be filled in Sign field as i am going to file return online.

14 July 2009 Designation of AO will be ward or circle where you ised to file your income tax return. If you are fresh assessee then put the relevant ward.

Not relevant sections of points leave that place blank.

In ITR 1 leave that place blank.If you are filing the return with digital signature then you don't send this to be send to bangalore office otherwise after return filed online then take printout of ackn. sign on that & then submit this to bangalore office.

And what is the meaning of Digital signature,Does it mean that the Form 16 shold have Digital signature.

14 July 2009 If the return is filed online without digital signature then it is required to be sent to banglore.
Digital signature does not mean that form 16 should have digital signature. It means whether you are signing the return with or without digital signature

15 July 2009 There is facility to add the digital signature on your return while uploading the same to income tax server.

The site will ask you whether you want to file the return with digital signature. At this point you must say yes & then upload the digital signature file & submit the return.
