19 September 2013 hello, i am doing cs executive, and preparing for clearing both the modules in december only, so i wanted to know whether i could directly register myself for ipcc in next november , or i should give cpt in december, i wanted to know which way is time consuming and better... and also please tell the trainig procedure if i should apply directly for ipcc??

21 September 2013 Yes you can join IPCC through Direct entry scheme based on your clearing CS Executive in the month of December 2013.

I would advise you to do not base your CS preparation on CA. Just focus on CS for December attempt. By mixing CS with CA you are unnecessary putting yourself in pressure which is very harmful.

21 September 2013 Institute: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)

Eligibilty to avail exemption from passing the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) :

1. Graduates or Post Graduates in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognised University (including Open University) by studying any three papers of 100 marks each out of Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (including Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration or Management Accounting;

OR

Graduates or Post Graduates other than those falling under Commerce stream mentioned above having secured in aggregate a minimum of 60% of the total marks or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognised University (including Open University).

NOTE:
Provisional Registration: Students who are pursuing the Final year of Graduation Course shall be eligible for provisional registration to the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course. Such students would be required to submit satisfactory proof of having passed the graduation examination with the specified percentage of marks within six months, from the date of appearance in the final year graduation examination (i.e. from the day of commencement of the examination).

OR

2. Candidates who have passed the Intermediate level examination or its equivalent examination by whatever name called conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

To apply: Applicants who fulfil the requirements, may register for the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course by downloading the specified application form and submitting the filled-in applications to respective Offices of the ICAI as mentioned in the application form.

Articled Training:
1. Commerce Graduates or Post Graduates or Non-Commerce Graduates or Post Graduates shall be eligible for admission to three years articled training, on completion of

Information Technology Training;
Orientation Course

2. Students who have passed Intermediate level examination of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India shall be eligible for admission to three years articled training on

Passing of 1 st Group or Both Groups of Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination; or Accounting Technician level Examination;
Completion of Information Technology Training
Completion of Orientation Course

Eligibility to appear in the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination :

1. Commerce Graduates or Post Graduates or Non-Commerce Graduates or Post Graduates:

is registered for the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course;
has completed nine months of practical training (including study course for a period of eight months which shall commence from the date of registration to the Course).

2.Students who have passed Intermediate level examination of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India :

is registered for the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course
has undergone a study course for a period of eight months commencing from the date of registration to the Course.
