Qualification of Auditor

This query is : Resolved

21 May 2009 Sir,
Pls let me know whether non-CA's can also be appointed as Auditor of the Pvt Ltd Co.s?
(I have heard that companies having a paid up share capital of less than certain amount can appoint non-CA's as auditor)

Pls clarify,

Thanks & Regards,
Girish

21 May 2009 Only a CA in practice and Partnership firm of CA in practise are qualified as an Auditor..!!!

Earlier, Holder of a certificate in erstwhile Part'B'states was also eligible for appointment as an auditor, subject to rules framed by the Central Government relating to the grant, renewal, suspension or cancellation of auditors certificate. this provision has now become redundant.
So, no non CA now 4 any Co.'s....!!!!

22 May 2009 Agree with the answer above.

Only a member of ICAI in practice and Partnership firm of CA in practise can be appointed as an Auditor..!!!
