what is mean by purchase order & sales order?

Purchase order is the order provided for the procurement of the material. It is contract for the supply of goods or services. The sales order on the other hand is the document for providing of goods or services. On receipt of sales order it is considered as revenue. Whereas in case of purchase order it is considered as expenses.
