17 March 2010 Is TDS is applicable on payments made for purchase of software? If so, what is the rate?

17 March 2010 No, TDS is not Applicable in case of Purchase of Software as this is a "purchase" of Goods/product and not the service or profeesional fees. However the Installation charges would be liable for the TDS Deduction u/s 194C and profeesional services related with S/W would be covered u/s 194J.
