Proposed Dividend

10 June 2008 Whether proposed dividend once declared be withdrawn ? Is it also possible for interim dividend ?

proposed dividend is declared after preparation of final account and after year end . Then why and how is that accounted in current year ?
Please specify AS with it .

19 June 2008 Proposed dividend can be withdrawn by directors before the Annual General Body meeting held.

Interim dividend is declared and paid by Directors as per regulations in AoA...once it is declared, it cant be withdran.

Proposed dividend is made while preparing final accounts of a company as per the recommendations from Directors


It is an amount set aside for paying dividend for current year, so it is part of current year transaction..

There is no AS applicable...
