10 August 2010 Sir,
We are the Electrical Contractor. We have been paid the Labour charges to Site Workers regarding digging, excavation, laying of cable etc works. Individually the labour charge has been Rs.10000 to 20000/- as per their works done.
Sir, I want to know that whether we should deduct the Profession Tax on labour charges ?
Whether Profession Tax is applicable on labour charges ?
Please clarify !

10 August 2010 No, the same is applicable to salaried people only. Wage earners are outside the purview, even though the amount may be on higher side.
