Mr Kumaran,N, Surrendering of sales tax number means surrendering the registration certificate issued to a firm. This arises when(1) the business is sold to or merged with others(2) change in the status i.e.to pvt ltd or to proprietor ship,(3)firm is dissolved,(4)when the sales i.e. taxable,falls below the minimum required for registration,(5)the authorities cancel the RC suo moto due to some offences recorded etc. MJK
