As per your suggestion, Excel not prefix the Rs. before number, kindly clarify.

09 May 2008 I am afraid, it is not possible to prefix numbers with Rs. If you are however particular to print Rs. before amounts, you may like to adopt the following procedure.

To the left of column in which you enter amounts, insert a new column, adjust its size to 3 and type Rs. For the purpose of heading, merge both the columns (alignment)and type Amount as heading to the column

When you print the Report, it appears as though Rs. is pre-fixed to the amounts

23 June 2010 What version you are using?
Excel 2003 or 2007?

In excel 2007, you can insert Rs. in front your value.

steps to be followed:
1. right click the cell
2. select format cells
3. Select currency category
4. select symbol as "Rs."
