03 September 2007 what is the difference between face value of a share and the market value. if i buy some shares then what i will have to pay? if market value, then what is the significance of face value? how is the market value decided

03 September 2007 Face Value : The Original value of the shares
Market Value : The highest price that a buyer would pay and the lowest price a seller would accept on a property. Market value may be different from the price a property could actually be sold for at a given time

The Value that the shares have in the Stock Exchange, This is decided on many criteria of the company
1. Financials Stability
2. Board of Directors
3. Interaction between the buyers and sellers

You uwill have to pay the market value if u buy shares
