25 June 2014 no it cannot be a partner in a HUF.

You may refer Supreme Court of India judgment in the case (AIR-1930-PC-300 & AIR1956-SC-854) where it was held that HUF is an association of persons is "not a person" within the meaning of expression in the Partnership Act. "
