15 October 2010 Dear Sir/Madam

A,B and C share the profit losses in the ratio of 3:2:1. D is admitted. He gets 1/6 in Share entirely from A. New Ratio will be

Ans: 1/3:1/3:1/6:1/6

Please tell how to Calculate

16 October 2010 The answer is correct. It can be calculated in this way.

Suppose the total profit is Rs.6000.
Now as per Old ratio profits are >
A - 3000, B - 2000, C- 1000.

Now D gets 1/6 share in profits i.e 1/6 of 6000 = Rs. 1000.
It is paid entirely by A. SO A's share will remain as 3000 - 1000 = 2000.

So the new sharing profit will be
A- 2000, B- 2000, C-1000, D-1000.
Or The sharing ratio will be
1/3:1/3:1/6:1/6.

Regards
