17 December 2012 WHAT IF TWO PAN CARD OF THE SAME PERSON EXIST ? AND WHAT TO DO? PLS GUIDE ON THIS ISSUE.THNAK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

17 December 2012 Obtaining or possessing more than one PAN is against the law in terms of Section 139A (7) of the Indian Income Tax Act.

In case someone ihaving more than one PAN. One of them must be surrendered.

17 December 2012 Surrender one PAN.

Fill form of Request for New PAN Card Or/ And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data (PAN Change Request Form).

You have to mention the PAN which you are using currently on top of the application form. All other PAN/s inadvertently allotted to you should be mentioned at item no. 10 and the corresponding PAN card(s) should be submitted for cancellation along with the form.


17 December 2012 CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT IF NOT SURRENDED I MEAN TO SAY IS THERE IS ANY PENALTY

17 December 2012 Obtaining/possessing more than one PAN is against the law and may attract a penalty upto Rs.10,000. Therefore it is advisable not to obtain/possess more than one PAN. If you have more than one PAN, you should surrender the unused PAN.

17 December 2012 If you have a duplicate PAN card, tax sleuths intend to impose penalties of Rs 10,000 and cancel the card.

17 December 2012 The penalty is upto Rs.10000/-
