16 December 2011 I am a Indian national, resident in India. Can I open a bank account in Singapore? Please provide details and references.

16 December 2011 Opening a personal bank account in Singapore is easy. Singapore citizens, permanent residents, Work Pass holders (Employment Pass/EntrePass/Dependent’s Pass) and foreigners can open a personal bank account in Singapore.
To open your Singapore personal bank account, Singapore citizens and permanent residents need to submit the following documents:

* Account Opening Application Form
* A copy of the Identification Card (IC)
* Proof of residential address

For foreigners, Entrepass /Employment Pass/Dependant’s Pass/S Pass holders, and other work passes, the following documents are required:

* Account Opening Application Form
* Passport
* Work Permit (not applicable to foreigners)
* Proof of residential address
