I am not very familiar with the tax norms. My income tax for year 2009-10 was filed by my employer and they gave me the ITR-V to be mailed to the tax office Bangalore. However I missed to do that. In last week of March 2011, I got a mail (via my employer) from tax office stating "Non - Receipt of ITR-V for AY 2009-10 at Income Tax Department-CPC, Bangalore - Treated as Invalid".
I have been trying to contact many professionals about suggestion on what to do next, but I am not getting any clear response from anyone. I found this forum that has answers many such questions and hope to get an answer too. Is it too late to resend ITR-V? What are the options? Please help.

Get help of CPC by calling them, as time is already over, if you are able to convince them about your facts, they may consider late submission of ITRV

Kindly do the following. Get the Print out of the ITR submitted by you and sign at the place and page of VERIFICATION. After signing you quote the acknowledgement number, reference number and or get a copy of the mail and attach with the physical copy of ITR and send it with the forwarding letter that you failed to file the copy of ITR and hence the physical copy duly signed by you is being sent for consideration. It will work but you have to wait for some time
