18 April 2013 Hi can anyone tell me reference in CA Code of ethics etc wherein it is stated that non practising CA without COP can be in full time employment with CA firm and also simultaneously start a trading business-pls help

Thanks

18 April 2013 clause 8 of part 1 of schedule 1 debars a ca in PRACTICE and business at a time.
but ca in service OR neither in service nor in practice is nowhere prohibited from the doing work at anywhere.
though at a ca firm you can not be in the authority of partner without possessing cop
and won't be able to sign on your employer's behalf.

though there's a notification which says
a member who is an employee shall be deemed guilty if he is willingly and grossly negligent in conduct of his duty as employee.
hence even a report made by you signed by your employer, if there any negligence, you will be held liable. so that is to be keep in mind.
Also refer section 2(2). which is related to deemed in practice and once you are deemed in practice all other clauses to a practicing ca will be applicable to you as well.
